Big Brother

Kyler is such a fun big brother. He was taking Zander for a ride in our diaper box car. Zander even grabbed hold of the steering wheel. We moved Zander to Kyler's room. At six weeks I have to kick babies out of our room. I am an incredibly light sleeper. Any baby noise wakes me up. I even wore ear plugs to bed for six weeks so I would only hear when Zander started crying to eat. When his baby noises started getting too loud for earplugs to drown out (6 weeks), he moved to be with Kyler. Kyler loves having him in his room. He likes to put stuffed animals in Zander's crib so he can have something to sleep with (I take them out after Kyler is asleep or move them to the far end of the crib, far away from Zander). I tried to explain about babies and stuffed animals, but Kyler just caught the part about them needing to be away from the baby's face. He's good about putting them away from Zander's face. When we started putting Zander in Kyler's room, Kyler went to bed and Zander was still awake. Kyler was concerned we weren't actually going to put Zander in his room. He really wanted him in there with him. We explained that Zander would go to sleep later and we'd take him in. I don't think Kyler believed us that Zander was in his room until one morning he woke up and Zander had actually slept later than him. I went in to find him stacking more stuffed animals around Zander. He is such a kind big brother. He takes his role pretty serious.

Azure has started wanting swaddled. It's funny to watch her pretend to be a baby. It never lasts very long. She just wants some extra hugs sometimes. She's done so well with having baby brother. I was surprised how well she's done. I happily let her pretend to be a baby and get swaddled because if this is her way of dealing with getting a baby brother, I feel pretty lucky! She hasn't regressed in any of her big girl roles; she just wants to get hugs with a blanket wrapped around her sometimes.
