Kyler had a friend birthday party on Saturday. His birthday was a month ago, but I promised him a party this year. We do friend parties every other year. I didn't want to do it near his birthday because Zander was only two weeks old. I didn't want him around too many kids yet. We had a Disgusting party.
We started off with the kids doing Build-A-Bug. They got googly eyes and foam stickers to decorate bugs (and crayons).
Then, we played Pin-the-Mold-on-the-Bread (trying to hit the cockroach). The kids loved the dryer lint we used as mold. At first some didn't want to touch it, but they gave in when enough kids realized it wasn't really mold ;)
We made slime. I think this was the biggest hit. I let the kids measure the stuff out and pour it in. Then, I had them count with me while it gelled. The stuff was really slimy at first. The kids thought it was great.
Then we blew out the candles on the compost cake. It's a good thing I had a bag of gummy worms. The kids liked the cake, but the gummy worms were their favorite.
This is Kyler and Azure playing with their slime before bed. It wasn't quite as slimy after it gelled really good. It plays a little like playdough.
And, here's my sweet baby. He really looks like a baby now. He's six weeks. His newborn hair is all falling out. He had a plugged duct in his right eye for a while, but with a bit of massaging, that's cleared up. He's just getting so big already.
